The Meditation retreat India program is of 7, 10 and 14 days, which starts every Monday and is available all year round. Come and experience yourself meditating in the foothills of Himalayas at birthplace of spirituality, near the banks of river Ganges in Rishikesh. This meditation retreat is designed to give you an understanding of what deep meditation is about and what significant changes it can bring in your life. Your Meditation retreat days in India will be filled with deep relaxation and soulful experiences – where you get to meet learned Meditation Teacher and can share meaningful sessions with them. The meditation retreat in Rishikesh India will give you a harmonious balance between the outside world and your inner self. By focusing on the inward journey, we bring about the change in life quality of students.

Meditation Retreat center in Rishikesh, India

In Rishikesh, a clean, hygienic and comforting retreat centre is waiting for you in the heart of the hills, offering great views of the city and the Himalayan range filling the backdrop. The retreat center is few paces away from the banks of River Ganges and is filled with positive vibes. The surrounding area is rich in holy temples, warm people and simplicity. This place is carefully selected as the quiet and warm atmosphere is perfect to relax the mind, body and soul.

At India meditation retreat, you will be living in the close embrace of nature, which in itself, is a refreshing experience. The rooms offer panoramic views of the city with tall Himalayan Mountains in the vicinity. The rooms of your accommodation are hygienic and comfortable, and available on private as well as sharing basis. Most rooms have a private balcony for you to immerse in the beauty of Rishikesh and to spend some leisure time in self-reflection & meditation.

Meditation – it is a process of self-awareness and is one of the key tools to help harmonize the mind and tap into the potential of higher consciousness. At Vedic Yoga Academy meditation retreat, you will be guided through Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses from the mind), Dharana (focusing of the mental awareness) and experiencing Dhyana (continued meditative awareness).

Meditation Experience

1. Physical, Active senses (Posture based): Introduction to various active postures which improve physical and mental well-being
2. Cognitive Senses (touch, sound, smell, sight, hear): Understanding the process of mental actions which helps in acquiring the knowledge via thought, experience, and the 5 senses
3. Breathing: How to utilize breath to improve mental, physical, and spiritual health
4. Mindfulness: Learn how to train your mind to be fully attentive to what’s happening around you, to focus on what you’re doing or to the space where you are in.
5. Taking responsibility: Understand the role you play in your life and how it is not dependent upon anything or anyone else, but you.
6. Self love (bliss): The art of letting go of the burden and love self without any conditions
7. Just being (Meditation): how to attain the meditative position of ‘just being’, which is wonderfully cleansing, and very productive


How to let go of negative emotions

1. Write in a journal: The art of recording the happenings and melt the negative emotions
2. Meditation or other contemplative practices: Focused meditation practices specifically developed to let go of the negative thoughts
3. Counseling: Meeting a seasoned Yogic counselor in a one to one session to do away with negativity


Healing through positive emotions

1. Love (Empathy, Kindness, Mercy): Understand the true meaning of love with the help of meditation. Get the insight of how to share love towards everyone (including self) and lead a fulfilled life.
2. Joy (Humbleness, Fulfillment, Happiness, Calmness): How to live life on a path towards lasting happiness. The happiness which is free of entitlement and is based on gratitude. A life in which each new day is a gift in itself, not a given, but something to be cherished
3. Compassion: How to stem a feeling of deep tenderness and kindness that springs from the experience of empathy and understanding for someone's vulnerability and physical or emotional pain.
